The Day After Christmas

Today I played with all of my new toys! I read books, I sang songs, I sat in my new chair and I snuggled my pillows. Two things I really enjoyed doing today were swinging in my new swing and riding in my new RadioFlyer wagon!

I was so busy at Grandma and Grandpa's that I crashed for a 3 hour nap. Before we left for Nana Jo's house I got to visit with my Great Uncle Terry and Aunt Maria. What a treat!

These pictures are from Nana's house. If you are wondering what Nana is holding in the plastic bag, it's M & M's with my face on it! I always knew that I would be famous someday... ;) We had so much fun at Nana Jo's house. I made a big mess out of my dinner and then I opened a million presents! I am so loved!

Christmas Day

After all of the early morning excitement, we traveled to Grandma and Grandpa's house. I think that 1/2 of the presents under the tree were for me! I have so many new toys that I'm not even sure where to start. My favorite new toy? A trash bag with wrapping paper in it. :)

At 6:15 AM on Christmas Day my (normally) night owl husband throws the covers off after Arianna lets out one wimpy cry and says, "She's up!" As you can imagine, I was astounded at his enthusiasm, but delighted that he was so excited for our baby girl's second Christmas. Of course she slept through the first one so this was really fun for us! These pictures are the start of many traditions in our home! I'm getting teary-eyed just thinking of all of the memories that we have, and will, create. Merry CHRISTmas!

Christmas Came Early

My Aunt Erin traveled to MN (crazy!) this year for Christmas so we started the celebration early. I love it when I can open presents before Christmas! Notice that I was opening presents for so long that I had to change into my pajamas. ;)

My First Birthday... Day 4

Finally, the day of my birthday party was here! I celebrated with a small family gathering and a big messy cake face! I received a lot of love and several cool gifts including an activity table, a shopping cart and a beautiful Christmas pop-up book from the Smithsonian. By the end of 4 straight days of celebrating, I was exhausted! Thank you to everyone who made my birthday so memorable and so much fun!

My First Birthday... Day 3

Day 3 started out casual enough. My Great Aunt Peen had plans to stop by to visit with me. While I waited I decided to play in the Christmas tree. When Great Aunt Peen came, she brought more fun presents and gave me several super cute outfits! I put one of my new outfits on immediately and I wore my new red sweater with polka dots to my birthday party the next day.

Day 2 started off without any biting. That didn't stop me from tripping and hitting my head though! Two days in a row with a phone call from Tutor Time... Mommy was starting to wonder if she had made the right decision. Not to fear though, I was fine and Mommy relaxed.

Later that night G-Pa came over with Sarah, Desiree, Ally & Nick to help me celebrate day 2. They brought cute outfits for me and a crawling Pooh Bear! We had great fun playing on the playground together and opening presents.

My First Birthday... Day 1

My first birthday was such a big event that we had to celebrate over several days! On day 1 I started things off by going to Tutor Time for the first time. With the exception of being bitten on my first day there, I had a fabulous time. I also became a pro walker after just one day! I started walking on 12/5/08, but by the time I got home from Tutor Time it seemed to Mommy and Daddy like I had been walking since birth.

Later that night, Aunt Erin and Jessica came over to load me up with gifts. They gave me a Crawl 'n' Cruise, new shoes, new socks and a rubber duckie faucet cover. It was a great day!

See how dark and green the sky is? This is in the middle of the day. Mommy was sure that we were going to be taken away by a tornado, just like in Twister.

These are leaves that are plastered to the house. Hail also decorated the front porch.

Straight line winds knocked these trees over. Scary stuff!

We went round and round on the carousel.

Daddy worked on Father's Day so we celebrated the day before by going swimming. Nana Jo bought this cute bathing suit for me.

I also added shades to my look so I could disguise myself from the paparazzi. They are everywhere!

Daddy was a good bodyguard though.

First Swim

Today I went swimming for the first time with my friend Garrett Goosen. I put on my swimming trunks, my hat and my sunblock.

Mommy was so excited to take me into the pool that she forgot to take her cell phone out of her pocket. Silly Mommy!

My Nana Jo was pretty pleased with me, too. Finally, Daddy gave her a grandchild! She was very helpful to Mommy and Daddy during the first several weeks. Now she watches me at least two days a week. She teaches me how to clap, how to use my hands and lots of other things. She's wonderful!

How does this thing work?

6 lbs 8 oz!

I was born on 12/11/07... two weeks early! (Mommy was happy about that one). I weighed in at 6 lbs, 8 oz and 19 inches long. I entered this world with my eyes wide open and a mohawk on my head (courtesy of the delivering doctor). From the moment Daddy saw me, he followed me everywhere I went. Instantly Mommy and Daddy found themselves head over heels in love with me.
